Bella’mbrella

Using an umbrella can prove very difficult for people with rheumatoid arthritis. Traditional umbrellas are too heavy and collapsible umbrellas require ‘pushing and pulling’ strength beyond the ability of someone with rheumatoid arthritis.

‘Bella’mbrella’ looks at using existing canopy construction with a new opening and closing method. The handle doubles up as a cover and allows the user to open it in a rotational manner, activating the canopy to open or close automatically with little effort required from the user.
